Lent: Locate a Homeless Shelter and Pray for the homeless in your community.

By the grace of God, I have not been out of work all of my adult life except for a five week leave of absence I voluntarily took so I could participate in a youth group summer choir tour. Others have not been so fortunate, and find themselves homeless as well as out of work. There are homeless people in every community, and most communities have people who care deeply about this, and have organized shelters and care centers to assist those in need.

Here is a Lent activity:

Using a computer search engine, locate a homeless shelter near your home and spend 60 seconds in prayer for it.

An optional activity is next time you pass by a homeless person, stop, look them in the eye, introduce yourself and ask them their name. Call them by name and let them know you will be praying for them.

Your partner in sharing the gospel,
