At the Senecca Creek Trail Marathon I asked an aid station volunteer a question that really helped my "Constant Forward Motion" (CFM). "What lies ahead of me?". She looked me in the eye and said with specificity. "You have five miles to the next aid station, then two more and you are done. It is not too hilly, and fairly flat”.
This information assisted my CFM, especially since at this point in the race I had already traveled 23 miles. I was reduced to barely running and mostly walking while attempting to create enough body heat to stave off hypothermia.
What question do you need to ask to improve your CFM?
