Don Webb

Revelations 12: 11 They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony ;( NIV)

My good friend Don Webb through hiked the Appalachian Trail this year. An even greater feat was overcoming cancer (Lymphoma), a few years ago, and was a source of encouragement to me and others who also faced and overcame this deadly disease. I sat beside Don last night at the Potomac District Christmas Party and he is full of amazing stories from his hike on the AT. He has also kept his bald head look, while I have chosen to let mine grow out with the plan of donating it. Our friendships influence us and also allows for our own individuality to come forth. I also sat beside Mark Lehman and Wayne Brimmer. (The men decided to sit one side of the table and talk, so our wives could do the same.) Sitting with these overcoming men, influenced me for good and I left the party encouraged in the Lord and in life.

The three wise men must have had a similar chemistry among themselves. Each one contributed to the friendship and brought their own uniqueness to the journey they chose to make. Be encouraged to give and receive in the context of friendships. A simple choice of who to sit with, fellowship with, hang out with, or journey for a thousand miles with can prove very instrumental in forming and shaping our lives.

Lord, help us be strong in the Lord and be strengthened in the Lord through our relationships.
